Moving On

* Me and Owen on our last day at the Faversham

We've now been living in our new home for about two weeks. Although we only moved a few blocks northeast, it feels like we're in a different world. Quiet residential streets, children everywhere, shops and cafes even closer to our home.

The Faversham is where Adam and I lived together for the first time, where we got engaged, where I got pregnant, and where we brought our little Owen. I miss the old hardwood floors and glass doorknobs. I miss the little doorbell at our front door. I don't miss the noise and dust, the bathroom tiles that could never look clean after 50 years of use.

Our home on 17th Avenue is starting to feel right. Things have found their place. The dishwasher is always being used, as are the washer and dryer (hallelujah!). Owen's room is lovely, and Adam and I have our space back. Life is good.

  1. What a nice feeling to have your space back! It is hard to move from a place that holds so many memories. I feel you on that. I am already getting choked up thinking about our move.

  2. This is a pretty sweet picture. Damn I love that font. I never did see your place there. The details sound lovely though. And lots of nice memories.

Enjoy your dishwasher... I'm totally jealous!

  3. Laura: It's so hard to leave a space with so many memories, but I try to remember that it's just the beginning!

A: The details in that old building were absolutely gorgeous. If we could have had outdoor space, quiet, a washer and dryer, and a dishwasher, we would have stayed.
